Aerial laser scanning of the fuel and energy complex of Russia

Since 2018, ZALA AERO has been using aerial laser scanning (LiDAR) technology. Today it is the most efficient way to get geospatial data used in unmanned and manned aviation.

The advantages of LiDAR technology are high data detalization, with the ability to obtain a reliable terrain, hidden under vegetation, and in areas unreachable from the ground.

The result of laser scanning with ZALA UAV is a point cloud with a measurement density of more than 200 points per square meter and an accuracy of up to 1 cm in plan and height. Data from aerial laser scanning is used to create digital elevation and terrain models, orthophoto maps, topographic plans, virtual twins of objects, infrastructure, and cities.

Aerial laser scanning is used in the oil and gas industry for engineering and topographic surveys, in the electric power industry for certification, monitoring power lines and determining the level of sag of wires, it allows to monitor the progress of construction work, as well as inspect the condition of railways and other infrastructure.

Aerial laser scanning technology is used in the largest organizations of the fuel and energy complex such as PJSC NK Rosneft, PJSC Gazprom, PJSC Gazprom Neft, PJSC NGK Slavneft, PJSC Novatek, and others.
