NEXT GENERATION UNMANNED SYSTEMS BY ZALA AERO
ZALA AERO, Russian leading manufacturer of unmanned systems, introduced new series of unmanned systems, which are unique among small-UAS class. The new unmanned systems are capable of streaming live HD video over encrypted radio channel at a range larger than 70 km.
LIVE HD VIDEO STREAMING
New ZALA UAS HD series are equipped with on-board powerful computer that transfers data to the ground during flight. The computer processes video images and transfers them in HD format (1280x720) in visible and infrared range via three channels. Now ground operator can simultaneously see three video streams: general scene, object close-up view and infrared image. All the transferred data is protected by encryption.
ULTRA-LOW LATENCY
Besides high resolution, ZALA offers ultra-low latency for the video streams, which is one of the main parameters for remote pilot’s operation. This value describes the time between frame shot and its display on ground control station. During surveillance of fast-moving objects, the signal latency may become crucial. The new ZALA UAS deliver HD video streaming with less than 0.4 sec – excellent value for small UAS class.
TWO-LEVEL IMAGE STABILIZATION
Nobody wants to watch a shaking video, it is especially problematic during close-up monitoring of fast moving objects, since the object can easily fall outside the frame. Besides it is very tiresome for remote pilot. Other companies use just the electronic stabilization, which shifts the image from frame to frame to counteract camera movement. It uses pixels outside the visible image border as a buffer for this motion. Therefore, the visible image size may be reduced, so remote pilot can see about 60-70% of what was initially shot by camera.
NEW PAYLOADS

Smart video camera takes the DRI standards up to the next level. Now at the altitude of 2000 m you can not only detect a human, but also identify her/him by age and gender – distinguish adult and a child, man and woman.

Thermal survey is now really easy since the new thermal imager can measure objects’ temperature with 2°С accuracy in the temperature range of -20°С to +60°С. Earlier this process required much time and labor since was performed manually with portable equipment.

High sensor resolution, high sensitivity, noise digital filters provide crystal-clear infrared images and particular see minor defects, find temperature gradient of the surveyed objects.
Video image from both video camera and thermal imager may be transferred to ground control station simultaneously. The payload is integrated with automatic tracking module and module for surface coordinate detection.
Detailed and clear video image greatly facilitates remote pilot operation. Application of the new drones will be essential in all situations when quick response is required – during special operations, search and rescue missions, pipelines surveillance.
