Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute has purchased ZALA unmanned system 421-08M of special modification to use it for ice reconnaissance and scientific research.

By the end of this year ZALA UAS will support the 65th Russian Antarctic expedition – data from the drone will help explorers to track a safe route for their ship. Also ZALA UAS 421-08M will be used for aerial photography. The images, received from UAV will be the basis for analysis of natural phenomena in the ocean,  wild animals counting, estimation of ecological situation and cartography.

ZALA 421-08M is a compact unmanned system, resistant to strong winds up to 20 m/sec and low temperatures down to - 50°C, that is essential for rough climate of the Antarctic region.
