The ZALA Z-16 UAV unit of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Dnipro force group corrected the destruction of an AFU barrel artillery gun in the Kherson region. During aerial reconnaissance, the Z-16 operator detected a shot from a gun camouflaged in a forest belt. The identified coordinates were promptly transmitted to the howitzer division's control centre. Within minutes, the artillerymen opened fire and destroyed the AFU artillery piece with a precise shot, followed by the detonation of ammunition.

A technician-operator of the ZALA UAV with the call sign «Chibis» told about the peculiarities of the work of the unmanned reconnaissance drone crew.

«I came in »24, literally a month later I was already working quietly. I drove myself, worked out, came, started and planted. Already as an experience, we worked, left, that is, we try not to stay long, we worked literally 6-7 minutes and left. That is, it is together with unloading and loading," said the fighter.

It is noted that the ZALA Z-16 UAV can survey the terrain at a distance of up to 100 kilometres and stay in the air for more than four hours. The high autonomy of the Z-16 allows fighters to conduct long-term surveillance of certain areas of the front, promptly identifying enemy targets in the occupied territory.

Operators of the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAVs of the Dnipro group of troops are constantly monitoring key AFU artillery positions in Zaporizhzhya Region. According to the fighters, the enemy often uses the same points, replacing the artillery pieces hit by the Russian forces with new ones. To do this, they take advantage of unfavourable weather conditions, when rain or strong winds restrict the flights of drones.

«There are times when we find the enemy's barrel artillery, hit it. They just change it overnight and bring a new one. The next day we hit it again, sometimes four times. So they bring a new one to the same place,» said a ZALA system operator with the call sign Ajax.

He emphasised that thanks to the coordinates collected in advance, fighters can quickly identify enemy equipment and destroy it at the first opportunity.
