The «Zvezda» TV channel, in its programme «I Serve Russia», showed the capabilities new unmanned boat «Kama», which ZALA unveiled for the first time at the «FLOT-2026» International Naval Exhibition in Kronstadt. The «Kama» is an operational response to modern challenges, including the defence of maritime borders. The navy is already interested in such solutions, the authors of the report note.

The «Kama» unmanned surface vessel (USV) was designed as a flexible platform capable of tackling a wide range of tasks. It can be fitted with a variety of equipment — from lidars to night-vision and thermal imaging cameras, as well as Full HD cameras. Thanks to this configuration, the vessel is capable of conducting continuous online monitoring and reconnaissance at sea at distances of over 200 km from the coast. The vessel’s effectiveness is significantly enhanced when operating in conjunction with the ZALA T-16 UAV, which acts as a relay and substantially expands the surveillance area, providing additional capabilities for monitoring the waterway from the air.

At the International Naval Salon «FLEET-2026», Assistant to the President, Chairman of the Russian Federation Maritime Board Nikolai Patrushev and Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy Admiral Alexander Moiseev familiarised themselves with unmanned boats «Kama"» developed by ZALA.

The exhibition was also visited by Alexander Beglov, Governor of St Petersburg, Albert Karimov, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade, and other officials. Company representatives briefed the management on the capabilities of unmanned boats for civil and specialist applications. In addition, the stand features the ZALA T-16 and ZALA T-20 unmanned aerial systems, which are actively used in various sectors, as well as Sovereign Next-Generation Communication and Navigation System «GEOCosmos"».

Senior officials from the relevant departments spoke highly of the robotic systems on display. Foreign delegations are also showing keen interest in ZALA’s developments, as they examine the company’s solutions for the defence of maritime borders.

At the International Maritime Defence Show "Fleet" 2026, ZALA presented two modifications of the KAMA multifunctional unmanned surface vessel. The systems are designed for civil missions. The KAMA USVs can carry out hydrographic surveys, perform environmental monitoring, and detect illegal discharges and pollution. They can also become a key tool for patrol missions, protection of water areas, emergency and rescue operations, and cargo delivery.

The autonomy reaches 12 hours, the speed is 12 knots (22.2 km/h), and a stable position hold is maintained in seas up to Beaufort force 3. The maximum speed is 30 knots. The BEC «KAMA» can travel up to 700 km and carry a payload of 600 kg. Thermal imaging cameras and automatic return upon loss of communication are provided. The prospects for this direction are undeniable. Compared to UAVs, uncrewed surface vessels have significantly greater autonomy, range, and carrying capacity. The latter is particularly critical for rescue or research operations.

Thus, ZALA continues to consistently expand its line of unmanned solutions for all environments. Earlier, the company presented its universal ground robotic platformfor the first time, and now it is strengthening its expertise in the maritime segment.

Ukrainian BEC destroyed by ZALA «Lancet» UAV strike in the Black Sea

An unmanned AFU vessel was detected by a ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV of the 50th Separate Brigade «Varyag» in the area of Snake Island. According to the operators, the vessel departed from the port of Odesa and was heading toward the Crimean Peninsula. A «Lancet» loitering munition was launched into the air, which, using its IRRA intelligent targeting and recognition system struck the moving unmanned enemy vessel. A direct hit led to the detonation of its ammunition, which was recorded on objective control footage from the ZALA Z-16.

ZALA Technologies Protecting Maritime Borders: ZALA Lancet-E UAVs Presented at DSA Exhibition in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR, 20–23 April. At the opening of the Defence Services Asia (DSA-2026) international arms exhibition, ZALA for the first time presented the Lancet-E reconnaissance and strike complex with active export permits. The system has already attracted the attention of representatives from Malaysian law enforcement agencies, who were previously acquainted with it at the LIMA-2025 air show.

The key feature of ZALA reconnaissance and strike systems is their proven combat effectiveness. While most analogues are tested in training grounds, ZALA-produced Lancet loitering munitions have demonstrated their capabilities in real conditions in the zone of the Special Military Operation, including in the fight against one of the most pressing modern threats – unmanned surface vessels (USVs).

In the Black Sea, Russian missile systems have successfully destroyed high-speed uncrewed surface vessels, including Ukrainian Magura V5 and V7 models. According to open sources, since the start of hostilities, at least 37 enemy unmanned surface vessels have been destroyed by Lancet loitering munitions, and this figure continues to grow. Among the most notable incidents are... A precise strike on the Magura V7 boat, who attempted to attack the Crimean Bridge, as well as destruction of an unmanned vessel near the Golitsynskoye gas field.

The export version of the «Lancet-E» UAV system includes the Z-16E reconnaissance UAV, equipped with a machine vision system capable of automatic target detection and tracking, as well as the «Product 51E» and «Product 52E» loitering munitions. The ZALA complex offers customers in Southeast Asia a ready-made tactical solution for effectively defending maritime borders and critical infrastructure against asymmetric threats, without the need for expensive aircraft or ships.

Fresh video footage released by the forces shows the work of the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV: detecting Ukrainian unmanned surface vessels (USVs) with machine guns on board and the subsequent strikes by Lancet loitering munitions. Three instances of the destruction of Ukrainian Armed Forces unmanned surface vessels have been recorded, two of which are supplemented with footage from the munition's own camera.

Target acquisition and automatic aiming provides IRRA intelligent system, which is installed on both the Z-16 reconnaissance and Lancet strike UAVs. This allows for the effective engagement of low-observable, high-speed, and actively maneuvering boats.

On the morning of December 5, Russian military stated on repelling an enemy attempt to attack targets on the Crimean Peninsula using attack UAVs and unmanned boats (UB).

According to the Rubicon Special Purpose Center, one of the Ukrainian naval drones, armed, as stated, with AIM-9 Sidewinder missiles, was detected by a ZALA unmanned reconnaissance system crew. The target's coordinates were promptly transmitted to Lancet operators. Equipped with new communication channels and a new intelligent guidance system, a ZALA loitering munition destroyed a highly maneuverable enemy aircraft carrier located at a distance of 104 kilometers from the Lancet launch point.

Earlier, the commander of the anti-marine drone group at the Rubicon Center, call sign «Fire,» told a correspondent told about tactics to counter such targets.

Russian Armed Forces units are actively using ZALA Lancet reconnaissance and strike systems to counter the AFU's uncrewed boats in the waters of the Black Sea.

The use of barrage munitions equipped with intelligent guidance system, confirmed their high effectiveness against manoeuvrable AFU maritime drones. In the area of the Crimean bridge, the Lancet made a precise strike struck BEC, attempting a stealthy approach to the target. Another boat - Ukrainian Magura V7 - was disabled off the coast of Crimea. An unmanned enemy vessel was also destroyed during an attempted attack on the Golitsynskoye gas field in the Black Sea.
