A crew of the «Malva» self-propelled artillery piece from the «West» military group is engaging targets behind enemy lines in the Kharkiv region. To ensure accurate and rapid engagement, the artillery crews operate at a distance of up to 20 kilometres from the front line. Fire is directed at pre-verified coordinates, provided round the clock by aerial reconnaissance from the ZALA «Lancet» UAV. The tasks of identifying targets, plotting them on a map and tracking enemy movements are entrusted to the operators of the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV. The aircraft is capable of penetrating 100 kilometres into enemy territory. At the same time, enemy electronic warfare systems and interceptor drones have virtually no effect on its operation.

«The artificial intelligence detects an object approaching it and performs a manoeuvre. It also has a radio detector installed, which also determines that something is nearby when the frequencies jump and carries out an evasive manoeuvre,» says the UAV squad commander with the call sign «Chapai».

The aircraft often operates in autonomous mode, allowing operators to concentrate not on piloting, but specifically on detecting targets and subsequently engaging them with the Lancet loitering munition. As the soldiers note, the munition has become so «smart» that when it locks onto a target, even if it is being jammed, it uses artificial intelligence to self-navigate to the target and engage it.

«Artificial intelligence forms the basis of this system to ensure security, channel encryption and communication reliability. And we have specifically created this version to develop the national economy of the Russian Federation as a sovereign communications and navigation system is being established,» a ZALA representative told NTV journalists.

At HeliRussia, ZALA also unveiled updated versions of its most sought-after systems for rapid, high-quality aerial monitoring of extensive sites — the ZALA T-16 and ZALA T-20. The UAV’s flight time has been increased by 35–40%, and the resolution of aerial photography has risen from 30–40 megapixels to 60. The key difference in the latest models is the integration of the IRRA on-board software and hardware complex, based on artificial intelligence, for autonomous search and identification of objects. ZALA has unveiled digital solutions for the construction industry

ZALA was the main sponsor of the conference «Construction Management. Current Practices», which brought together leading market players. One of the key themes of the event was the digital transformation of the industry, with experts discussing practical solutions, project management, and legal risks in the implementation of large investment and construction projects. The application of AI solutions sparked a lively discussion. Participants emphasised that today this is a mandatory condition for the successful implementation of large-scale facilities. Sergey Lyustarnov, Project Manager at ZALA, presented case studies on aerial monitoring of construction and transport infrastructure using ZALA’s aircraft-based UAVs. Using examples from healthcare facilities and Russian Railways projects, he demonstrated how the use of big data enables a shift from piecemeal monitoring to managing the entire lifecycle of a facility. Particular emphasis was placed on the integration of data into the unified ZALA 4Z1 geoinformation system, which eliminates human error and reporting distortions.

Commenting on the inadequacy of traditional control methods and the consequences of the absence of objective monitoring, Ljúshternov outlined the company's key operating principles:
