Spring 2026 poses a challenge to Russia's fuel and energy complex: heavy snowfall and an unusually warm spring threaten floods in Central Russia, the Volga region, and Siberia, followed by early fires. Oil and gas pipelines, pumping stations, reservoirs, and dams are under threat: soil erosion and dry grass fires could trigger emergency situations. In this regard, oil and gas companies have already moved to active preemptive monitoring using the ZALA T-16 unmanned complex with <a href="https://zala-aero.com/en/news/bvs-zala-poluchili-novye-bortovye-sistemy-s-ii-dlya-provedeniya-aviamonitoringa-obektov-tek/">with the IRRA AI-based hardware-software complex</a>.</p>



<p>The ZALA T-16 records video in daylight, night-time, and thermal imaging modes. On-board UAV machine vision algorithms analyse frames in real-time, classify deviations and transmit ready signals to the operator: flooding zone, thermal anomaly near a pipe, signs of soil erosion. Integration with the ZALA 4Z1 platform allows real-time viewing of video and analytics from anywhere in the world. The T-16 has a flight duration of over four hours and can survey more than 75 km of pipelines per flight. Reliable communication and alternative navigation ensure uninterrupted operation even in a complex radio-electronic environment. According to data from fuel and energy companies, thanks to ZALA's intelligent solutions, 70% events are recorded in real-time, which significantly reduces the response time to a threat.</p>



<p>In 2025, ZALA T-16 systems at the oldest oil and gas field of the fuel and energy complex <a href="https://zala-aero.com/en/news/bvs-zala-v-2025-godu-obsledovali-bolee-5-mln-kilometrov-infrastruktury-tek/">surveyed over 5 million km of routes</a>. This is equivalent to 13 Earth-Moon distances or 6 return flights. The result: thousands of incidents averted, cost savings, and a guarantee of industry uptime.</p>

It simplifies the operator's job – target acquisition and tracking, even under the influence of electronic warfare (EW) systems. Developed by ZALA specialists – <a href="https://t.me/ZalaAero/1091">IRRA hardware-software complex</a> works on board the Lancet loitering munition and makes key decisions at the moment of attack.</p>



<p>The system provides automatic real-time detection, identification, and tracking of targets using video and thermal imaging data. Machine vision algorithms isolate the object, keep it in frame, and perform precise munition guidance upon confirmed operator command.</p>



<p>This approach reduces reaction time and takes some of the computational load off. Even under conditions of active electronic warfare, with communication channel disruption, the Lancet maintains targeting without human intervention.</p>

On the front line, the time between target detection and strike has been reduced to mere seconds. In these conditions, ZALA is continuously improving the combat capabilities of reconnaissance UAVs through deep integration of artificial intelligence directly on board.</p>



<p>The ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance drone, featuring an integrated IRRA hardware and software complex based on machine vision algorithms, has become one of the results of this work. Video stream and thermal imaging data processing is now carried out in real time directly on board, without constant operator involvement.</p>



<p>The system's development is focused on expanding the capabilities for automatic target detection and tracking. The onboard electronics independently analyse the image, detect objects, including camouflaged equipment, and mark the identified targets. Only processed information is transmitted to the ground station, which significantly reduces decision-making time.</p>



<p>Active use of ZALA Z-16 in the NWO zone confirms the effectiveness of the IRRA system: the system demonstrates stable operation against both mobile vehicles and hidden stationary objects, including in conditions of active electronic countermeasures.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Russian oil and gas companies have begun large-scale implementation of an artificial intelligence-enabled aerial monitoring system developed by ZALA. This innovative solution, known as IRRA, is already being actively used at leading fuel and energy companies and is transforming approaches to environmental monitoring and critical infrastructure security.</p>



<p>ZALA unmanned aerial systems, equipped with the IRRA hardware and software suite, are capable of not only capturing video in daytime and nighttime, but also autonomously identifying and classifying detected objects in UAV video feeds, transmitting the processed information to a ground station. According to testing, over 70% events are recorded in real time, significantly reducing response times.</p>

<p>The ZALA ZARYA-1 and ZALA ZARYA-1M unmanned systems equipped with high-quality optical and thermal imaging systems are already being used to monitor flood conditions, detect fires and perform other tasks of rescuers in more than 60 cities of the country. Now the centre's specialists together with ZALA's developers are testing these unmanned aircraft with integrated AI.</p>



<p>The onboard IRRA hardware and software system automatically analyses images during flight, highlights fire spots and generates automatic reports that allow rescuers to make quick decisions. This ZALA technology significantly reduces reaction time, improves the accuracy of fire location and reduces risks for employees. For emergency services, this means not only safety, but also significant savings in emergency response resources.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>ZALA introduces innovative solutions for monitoring fuel and energy facilities. The upgraded ZALA T-16 and ZALA T-20 UAVs, equipped with onboard artificial intelligence, are able to analyse video streams directly during flight, which significantly accelerates the detection of threats to critical infrastructure.</p>



<p>The key advantage of the technology developed by ZALA specialists was the transfer of computing power on board the unmanned vehicle. The integrated IRRA hardware and software system uses machine vision algorithms to process optical data from video cameras and thermal imager of the UAV in real time, automatically identifying deviations at fuel and energy complex facilities.</p>



<p>The system automatically marks detected violations and transmits information about potential threats to the ground control station. Integration with the ZALA 4Z1 digital platform provides access to video stream and analytics from onboard not only to operators, but also to customer representatives from anywhere in the world. The technology is already being used to monitor the infrastructure of Russia's largest oil and gas companies.</p>
