The propulsion system is based on the \u00abKAMA-150\u00bb petrol engine and the \u00abKAMA-180\u00bb waterjet propulsion unit, both of which were developed in-house. The company\u2019s specialists explained the technical features of the system to a reporter <a href=\"https:\/\/mashnews.ru\/zala-razrabotala-propulsivnyij-kompleks-dlya-bek.html\">the MASHNEWS news and analysis portal<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The new system combines an engine with a waterjet capable of operating at limited depths. It is designed for BEKs, high-speed shallow-water boats, and small patrol and rescue vessels. The unit is compact and offers sufficient power.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The engine delivers high thrust at low speed thanks to its diagonal impeller. The water jet allows the vessel to operate in shallow waters and in overgrown waterways without the risk of damaging the propeller. Both components work in perfect harmony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Technical specifications: petrol fuel-injected internal combustion engine \u2014 four-cylinder, four-stroke, with a displacement of 2.7 litres. The waterjet nozzle impeller diameter is 180 mm; the impeller type is diagonal. A control system has been developed for the engine. At ZALA, they have also developed and established production of a waterjet propulsion unit with a 180-mm impeller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u00abWe are ready to supply engines to BEK. The engine is based on a Russian internal combustion engine. However, our own development and know-how lie in the cooling system, which takes the form of a heat exchanger,\u00bb said a company spokesperson<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Import substitution in the field of propulsion systems for the small fleet \u2014 including unmanned boats and small vessels \u2014 is one of the key priorities for the domestic industry. ZALA has developed a wholly Russian solution that eliminates dependence on foreign suppliers and reduces maintenance times.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a
