Mobility and stealth: combat operations of ZALA «Lancet» RUC units against AFU mortar positions
The ZALA Lancet reconnaissance and strike complexes of the Southern Group of Forces track down and engage enemy equipment in the area of defence operations on a daily basis. Mobility and secrecy are key factors in the effective work of the unit in the field. Preparing to launch a barrage munition takes less than a minute.
The Lancet's ability to move dozens of kilometres away and barrage for long periods of time, as well as the presence of an intelligent guidance and target recognition system on board, allow it to track and engage AFU equipment with high accuracy. Even when the enemy is trying to take cover, the munition can change its trajectory, altitude and flight speed on the fly to hit the target.
«We learnt that there was a mortar point there - we ended up destroying a mortar. Half of the work is artillery guns and self-propelled vehicles,» said the commander of the UAV calculation with the call sign Kasper.
Thanks to the speed of deployment and accuracy of the ZALA Lancet SAMs, reaction time to the threat is minimised: the crews destroy enemy firing points at the stage of their detection, preventing the enemy from opening targeted fire.
