Unbroken: ZALA Z-16 returned to its formation after FPV interceptor attack
In the Kupyansk district of Kharkiv region, ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAVs of the ZALA Z-16 group of the Western group continue their combat work against enemy artillery. The Z-16s conduct reconnaissance and target aviation, artillery and Lancet barrage munitions, preventing the Ukrainian armed forces from moving reserves.
During another sortie, the scouts uncovered the position of a carefully camouflaged AFU gun. Thanks to timely detection, the enemy artillery was destroyed in the first 24 hours without firing on our units.
According to the operator of the ZALA UAV with the call sign «Dub», on the way back the aircraft was attacked by enemy FPV interceptors. It was saved from a direct collision on-board video camera with machine vision technology: the automation instantly recognised the threat and issued a command for an evasive manoeuvre. The explosion occurred in dangerous proximity - fragments shattered the wing, but the Z-16 returned safely to the crew. According to the unit's tradition, the vehicle that survived the fire will receive a unique name.
