EMERCOM staff told future foresters about the capabilities of the ZALA ZARYA BVS
Muromtsev Forestry Technical College hosted a panel discussion on the use of unmanned systems. The event was held as part of the regional stage of the Professionals Championship, where EMERCOM employees organised an open demonstration of the specialised ZALA ZARYA-1 complex for students.
Maksim Kharymov, Head of the Unmanned Aerial Systems Application Department of the Central Unmanned Aerial Systems Control Centre of the Russian Emergencies Ministry in the Vladimir region, said that ZALA unmanned aerial systems help rescuers on a daily basis in monitoring the terrain, searching for missing people and fighting forest fires. Using the example of a ground control station, he clearly demonstrated how a UAV at a distance of up to 50 kilometres can transmit real-time information from thermal imaging and high-resolution video cameras to the operator.
As explained by EMERCOM representatives, the modular design of UAVs allows them to be adapted to a wide range of tasks. In addition to standard video recording, ZALA ZARYA can be equipped with dosimeters for radiation monitoring or public alert systems.
For future forestry specialists, the meeting was an opportunity to see a real tool that already today helps to quickly identify fire hotspots and find people missing in forests.
