ZALA specialists found out the history of the geoglyph «Zhenya» discovered in the Urals
Earlier we reported about an unusual discovery made during the monitoring of fuel and energy facilities in Kaltasinskiy district of Bashkortostan, where the ZALA T-16 unmanned aerial vehicle detected a man-made geoglyph. the word «Gianni» planted in conifers. The size of the message was 40 metres by 70 metres.
Thanks to the public outcry, the story was continued. It turned out that this message appeared on the Urals land in 2005. The author of the idea was a local forester who took an unconventional approach to the implementation of the reforestation plan.
«My father worked as a forester, and he had the task of planting a fixed plot of land with spruce. He hired workers, ploughed the land and decided to add "creativity": instead of standard rows, he wanted to leave a memory by planting trees in the shape of my name,» shared Eugene, the son of the author of the message.
The inspectors arriving from Ufa were surprised by the unusual approach, but the reforestation plan was fulfilled. No one cut down the already planted trees. Yevgeny noted that he was happy to see his father's message 20 years later from a bird's eye view thanks to modern technology.
This find is further proof that ZALA's unmanned systems, designed for industrial applications, are also helping to uncover interesting human stories captured in the landscape. The high resolution of the cameras and the ability for long-term monitoring allow them to reveal details that cannot be seen from the ground.
