Polar Airlines drones monitored a river near the village of Yort in Gorny District

Specialists of the Polar Airlines drone operation group were involved in aerial monitoring of the Khaar Bala5an River near the village of Yort in the Gorny District. The corresponding request was received from the Republican Rescue Service. Due to the abundance of melt water, the river filled up and started flooding the settlement.

The drone surveyed the lake and the river using photo and video cameras during the daytime and thermal imaging cameras at night. The monitoring showed that in some places the river was blocked with trees, especially at the bends, which affected the water level increase.

The collected materials were transferred to the Rescue Service for analysis. Drones help to monitor the situation during floods and rescue operations in real time. The data obtained in this way makes it possible to prepare for and respond to a natural disaster faster.

An unmanned aircraft ZALA 421-16E equipped with a photo and video camera was used for the work. The flight duration of the UAV is 4 hours, and it is allowed to operate in severe weather conditions of the north, namely flights in winds up to 15 m/s and temperatures from -50 to +50°C.

Polar Airlines has been operating ZALA AERO unmanned systems since 2019. This project is implemented within the framework of fulfilment of the Decree of the Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) A.S. Nikolaev on innovative and digital development of the republic and strategic documents of the Russian Government on the development of unmanned civil aviation.
