A Ukrainian CAESAR self-propelled howitzer was destroyed by a ZALA Lancet UAV crew in the DNR.
ZALA Lancet loitering munition crews destroyed a French-made 155mm CAESAR self-propelled howitzer, which Ukrainian forces were attempting to conceal in a forest belt near the settlement of Shavrovo. Enemy equipment was detected by operators of a ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV from the «Berkut» crew of the 238th Guards Artillery Brigade: the self-propelled howitzer crew hastily camouflaged the gun in the forest. The Lancet loitering munition was used to engage the target.
Judging by the objective control footage, after this, they attempted to redeploy the damaged weapon, but this did not save the equipment from a precision strike by a second «Lancet». The impact on the emplacement and its subsequent ignition were recorded by Z-16.
This is not the first successful hunt by ZALA's Lancet UAVs of CAESAR self-propelled howitzers, which Kyiv considered one of its most effective Western weapons. According to open sources, Lancet loitering munitions« At least 20 artillery systems of French manufacture have been destroyed.
