Russia will have troops of unmanned systems

A new branch of troops will be created in Russia - troops of unmanned systems. This was announced by the head of the military department, Andrey Removich Belousov, at the final board meeting of the Ministry of Defence.

"In accordance with the Supreme Commander-in-Chief's instruction, it is proposed to form a new branch of troops, the Unmanned Systems Troops," he said.

According to the Russian Defence Minister, their development could be completed in the third quarter of 2025. Andrei Removich also called for focusing on improving the tactical and technical characteristics of unmanned aerial vehicles in terms of increasing their range, autonomy and interference protection.

It should be noted that ZALA has been working continuously since the beginning of the special military operation to train external pilots of ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance unmanned aerial systems and operators of Lancet series barrage munitions. ZALA's specialised training centre - the largest in the field of unmanned aviation - has graduated several thousand UAV operators to date. A significant part of the training time is devoted to practical exercises.

Today, the ZALA Z-16 and ZALA Lancet-based reconnaissance and strike systems are proving their high performance on a daily basis on the line of contact and behind enemy lines. According to open sources, the Lancet has successfully hit more than 2.6 thousand targets since the beginning of the Strategic Air Defence Forces. Among them are air defence systems, artillery installations, tanks, combat vehicles and other enemy equipment.
