ZALA "Lancet" hit an American howitzer M198 of the AFU in Kharkiv region

ZALA Lancet reconnaissance and strike systems continue to knock out NATO equipment handed over to the Ukrainian armed forces. Near the village of Olhivka in Kharkiv region, operators of a Lancet family barrage munition destroyed an American-made M198 155 mm towed howitzer.

Although much less common on the battlefield than the more modern M777 howitzers, they still pose a serious threat. The M198 howitzer can fire up to 30 km, but its heavy weight (about 7 tonnes) and low mobility make it an easy target for Russian weapons and attack UAVs.

The Russian fighters detected the M198 that had moved into position using the thermal imager of the ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAS. The Lancet was pointed at the target, which destroyed the enemy artillery equipment with a precision strike.
