The new generation ZALA Z-16 helps track targets on the front lines.

The new-generation ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV is helping Russian troops identify camouflaged enemy targets in the Kherson region. Modernized ZALA UAVs, equipped with software based on machine vision algorithms, can automatically detect, identify and track targets in real time.

«"Let's say there's a color difference there. The AI might display it: 'Here, the grass is green, and there it's a little darker.' It'll record this, and then we'll examine that square and see directly what's happening there," said callsign Sal, a ZALA Z-16 UAV operator with the 331st Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division.

The ZALA operator also noted that it takes approximately 15 minutes to prepare for the reconnaissance UAV's launch. However, the military typically completes the task faster. In addition to providing 24/7 reconnaissance, the Z-16 regularly performs fire adjustments and objective monitoring of artillery, multiple launch rocket systems, aircraft, and attack UAVs.
