Rosneft plans to use ZALA ballistic missiles for airborne laser scanning

Rostec and Rosneft signed a co-operation agreement at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. The parties intend to set up a working group to develop a joint project for aerial laser scanning of Rosneft's facilities using ZALA ballistic missiles.

The result of the work will be the development of the concept of providing integrated services for the application of airborne laser scanning for oil field inspection, a ready-made business model and a roadmap for project implementation.

Commenting on the signing of the agreement, Andrey Shishkin, Vice President for Energy, Localisation and Innovations of Rosneft, said: "Active implementation of innovative technologies, including the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in the development of oil and gas facilities, allows the Company to reduce costs and lead times. "Rosneft strengthens its position as a technological leader by introducing the latest technologies throughout the entire production chain".
