The Izdeliye 54 barrage munition is equipped with an internal combustion engine, which allows it to be effectively used against enemy vehicles and manpower located at a distance of more than 200 kilometres.

The warhead of the barrage munition has been substantially enlarged compared to Products 51 and 52.
