«Sniper mode locks onto target»: the ZALA «Lancet» gun crew takes out Ukrainian Armed Forces vehicles near Dobropillia
Fire support from the ZALA «Lancet» multiple rocket launchers is facilitating the advance of Russian assault units along the Dobropillia axis. Fighters from the «Centre» military group have long recognised the speed and manoeuvrability of the «Lancet» loitering munitions: Ukrainian Armed Forces tanks and armoured vehicles are regularly added to the list of captured equipment.
«Different types of ammunition are used depending on the task at hand. But we mainly work with cumulative rounds, as the majority of our targets are enemy armoured vehicles, which we successfully hit. "The Lancet cuts through armour, metal," said sapper-operator Dmitry Maier.
The crews carry out several sorties a day, with a maximum hit rate. This time, aerial reconnaissance reported the detection of a «Bogdana» self-propelled howitzer. The target was deemed a priority for a Lancet strike.
«It has AI, a sniper mode, it acquires a target and even hits on the move with a high probability,» explained operator Yegor Osintsev.
As a result of a precision hit by a Lancet loitering munition, another enemy self-propelled howitzer was destroyed.
