Emergency Situations Ministry of Kalmykia mastering new unmanned systems ZALA ZARYA-1M

Specialists of unmanned aviation units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kalmykia started independent operation of specialised ZALA UAVs. A video report on the first independent flights of the rescuers is published at official page of the department on social media.

The ZALA ZARYA unmanned aerial system, developed with special tasks of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in mind, will be delivered to the Kalmykia rescue unit at the end of 2024. The aircraft is designed for round-the-clock monitoring of large territories and is able to work effectively in difficult weather conditions. A wide range of payloads can be installed on the platform - dosimeters, warning systems, high-resolution video cameras, thermal imagers and other specialised equipment.

To train ZALA ZARYA operators, the company's specialists conducted a series of training flights, during which EMERCOM personnel practised theoretical and practical skills of operating the new complex.

"We have passed the theoretical stage of training, and now we have successfully completed the practical stage and are now using this device for a variety of tasks. Thanks to their design, these drones are capable of high speeds and travelling long distances. This makes them ideal for long flights and monitoring vast territories. In addition, the aeroplane type of drones allows them to carry more weight of target loads. In terms of aerodynamic properties, there is also a superiority over the helicopter type. This device gives us up to four hours of flight time," said Anatoly Tsebekov, head of the department for the use of UAS of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kalmykia.
ZALA specialists maintain constant contact with EMERCOM units from more than 60 Russian cities, which also use ZARYA systems in their work. For ease of use, service centres for ZALA drones have been opened in major Russian cities. There is a 24/7 dispatch centre providing free support to UAV operators.
