The new ZALA Z-61 provided for the targeting and control of Russian Aerospace Forces airstrikes
The soldiers of the 46th separate reconnaissance battalion of the 11th army corps of the «Sever» grouping of troops are using reconnaissance complexes on the Kharkiv direction ZALA, including the new Z-61. The units conduct reconnaissance and also adjust the strikes of long-range artillery and aviation when delivering fire to the Ukrainian armed forces. This was told by the engineer-technician of the unit with the call sign Veselyy.
The Z-61 body is made of metal, and thanks to its maneuverability, the device remains a difficult target for the enemy’s air defense systems. The onboard system detects the threat from enemy drone interceptors in time and allows it to evade them. The device is mobile: launching from a catapult can be performed by one person from any point. There is no parachute — the Z-61 lands «like a plane» in the field, after which it is enough to replace the battery for a new takeoff.
A flight of one and a half hours is enough to travel 70 km into the depths of the enemy territory with day and night cameras and return. In this way, the Z-61 provides reconnaissance, targeting, and objective control of the strikes of aviation and long-range artillery.
