ZALA ZARYA measures the radiation background

ZALA conducted training flights for Russian EMERCOM specialists using the new ZARYA-1 and ZARYA-1M UAVs. The systems were delivered ahead of schedule to the Ministry of Emergency Situations under the contract for unmanned equipment for emergency forecasting. The unmanned equipment has been delivered to regional subdivisions of the ministry in more than 60 Russian cities from the Caucasus to Naryan-Mar.
The event, which took place in Nizhny Novgorod, was attended by Alexey Shcherbakov, Advisor to the Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry; Valery Sinkov, Head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry's Main Directorate for the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Lieutenant General of the Internal Service; specialists from the Emergencies Ministry's departments for organising the use of unmanned aerial systems and aviation rescue technologies in the Nizhny Novgorod, Orenburg and Ulyanovsk regions, as well as employees of Rosatom.
The new unmanned aircraft systems are designed to meet the requirements of rescuers and the specifics of their work. ZALA UAVs of these modifications are capable of operating day and night in the most difficult climatic conditions and are equipped with an additional target load - a dosimeter. The dosimeter allows EMERCOM specialists to remotely measure the radiation background of the terrain both in the course of surveying areas exposed to radiation contamination and as part of regular monitoring of the radiation background of territories throughout the country. Rosatom representatives verified the dosimetric target loads of the ZARYA-1 and ZARYA-1M BVSs using reference radiation background analysis instruments. The verification showed that the dosimeters manufactured by ZALA fully comply with the declared characteristics, and the readings obtained coincide with the reference ones.
With the new ZALA ZARYA-1 and ZARYA-1M UASs, rescue units of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations across the country have gained additional capabilities for safe monitoring of vast and inaccessible territories.
