Application of ZALA AERO BVS for monitoring power transmission lines Rosseti Tyumen

In the age of digitalisation, the use of unmanned aerial systems is becoming more in demand due to the possibility of saving organisations effort, time and money. One of the application areas for ZALA drones is the power industry.
Our partners at Rosseti Tyumen use ZALA UAVs to monitor the condition of overhead line poles and insulators. The aircraft performs overflights along specified routes, inspecting the condition of power lines and transmitting images from the UAV to the monitor of the ground control station in online mode.
To assess the condition of wires and insulators at any time of day, as well as in bad weather conditions, ZALA AERO uses target loads with a thermal imaging camera that can determine the temperature of the object to within 2°C. When a fault is detected, a report card with the exact coordinates of the faults is created, based on which the customer sends a team of on-site electricians to rectify the fault.
This type of monitoring is the most suitable for the area, as the main power lines may run in difficult swamps and flooded valleys, which require several days of autonomous camping. It takes 3 to 5 minutes to prepare and launch ZALA systems, which not only saves time and money, but also eliminates the possibility of incidents on power lines.
