ZALA drones protect the forest from illegal logging

Four cases of illegal logging were detected in the Tyumen Region with the help of ZALA unmanned aerial vehicles. The amount of damage is 7 million 380 thousand rubles, the volume of felling is 384.7 cubic metres. The photos and videos captured by the drone were handed over to the authorities of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Tyumen Region, and criminal proceedings were initiated.

Since the beginning of the year, the Forestry Department and the State Hunting Department of the Tyumen Region have been using ZALA unmanned systems to detect illegal logging. Vast forest areas are being surveyed using two ZALA 421-16 E unmanned aeroplanes. The aircraft are equipped with an HD video camera, a thermal imager and a warning system. The UAV is capable of staying in the air for more than 4 hours, with a communication range of 70 kilometres with a ground station.

The complex includes a specially equipped off-road vehicle based on Ford Transit. It is a full-fledged mobile laboratory, where it is convenient to transport the complex, control the flight of BVS, and carry out maintenance. The vehicle provides comfortable conditions for personnel rest.

ZALA drones will also be used during the fire danger period. This will make it possible to timely detect even minor fire outbreaks and reduce potential damage.
