«Lancet» hits its target every time: the work of the ZALA fire control units on the Zaporizhzhia front

Once all electronic countermeasures have been overcome, the strike will be delivered precisely at the point indicated by the operator. A particular advantage is the military target recognition system, thanks to which the «Lancet» literally identifies the target.
«He can identify all the main combat equipment – tanks, artillery, cars – highlight it, roughly speaking, so that the operator can see it all,» explained the commander of a UAV platoon with the call sign "Gorizont".
Among the significant objectives for the Ivanovo paratrooper unit is the destruction of a launch system for the German IRIS-T anti-aircraft missile system. «Lancets» are also actively used to disable engineering equipment, which the Armed Forces of Ukraine are actively using for constructing dugouts and fortifications in the Orekhov area.
Enemy movements in this sector are monitored by ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAVs. The operator’s main task is to survey the designated area in as much detail as possible for the benefit of the assault units. Experienced operators emphasise the Z-16’s high adaptability for flights both over the front line and deep behind enemy lines. Furthermore, the UAV is equipped with a radio frequency analyser capable of independently detecting enemy interceptor drones.
«It signals, firstly, an approach, and secondly, it executes a manoeuvre. The functionality is incorporated to save the „birds“, meaning it doesn't depend on altitude, and they also activate in automatic mode,» noted operator Moreman.Read more in the report NTV
