ZALA ZARYA is helping prepare for floods in the Saratov region.

Preparations for spring flooding have begun in the Saratov Region. To practice handling potential flooding, unmanned aerial system operators from the regional branch of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted training flights in one of the areas most at risk of flooding.

The ZARYA-1M unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) became the key monitoring tool. Its main advantage is its long flight duration and range: the device can operate for up to 230 minutes within a 50-kilometer radius. It can be used even at night and in adverse weather conditions.

Currently, five pilots have been trained in the region to operate these systems. These specialists serve in various units and collaborate both during regular exercises and during real emergencies.

Modern unmanned systems are actively used in the Saratov region to solve a wide range of problems: • monitoring flood conditions and dangerous sections of roads; • monitoring protracted wildfires over large areas; • work in areas of major emergencies.

ZARYA systems are equipped with interchangeable payloads, including high-resolution photo and video cameras. Using these, the UAV creates detailed images of the terrain. Using this data, specialists create orthophotomaps and 3D terrain models, enabling accurate flood forecasting, early identification of potentially hazardous areas, and optimal allocation of resources to minimize potential damage.
