Happy Russian Air Force Day!

The Air Force is the pride and an integral part of our country's defence capability. They epitomise the advanced achievements of aviation thought, the highest standards of technology and unbending courage. Our pilots valiantly defended Russia's interests in all military conflicts of the 20th century, in the fight against terrorism in Syria, and today are at the forefront of the Russian Army's strike operations in the course of fulfilling the tasks of the Air Defence Forces.

The profession of a military pilot is a symbol of professionalism, responsibility and readiness to risk one's life in defence of the Motherland. The names of Soviet and Russian aces - Nesterov, Pokryshkin, Mares'ev, Gastello - are inscribed in the history of world aviation and today serve as an example of the highest flying skills and loyalty to duty.
