Detecting offenders on Adygea's roads using ZALA drones
The traffic police of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in Adygea has shared footage of an operation jointly conducted with the special aviation unit of the republic's Rosgvardiya directorate to detect road offenders. Air monitoring of the motorways was carried out using ZALA unmanned aerial vehicles.
Air monitoring of the motorway is carried out in both directions for five kilometres from the DSS outfit.
If a traffic violation occurs, such as crossing a solid line, the UAV's onboard computer automatically locks onto the target and follows the offender's vehicle until it is stopped by traffic police.
The situation on the road section entrusted to the UAV is monitored continuously, and flight data is saved on a hard disc. All records with recorded offences can be used in the case file of an administrative offence.
«"As a result of the use of unmanned aerial vehicles in 2021, 45 administrative offenses related to driving into oncoming traffic were identified," the Adygea Ministry of Internal Affairs' State Traffic Safety Inspectorate reported.
