The Lancet loitering munition has been used for the first time on the African continent
Servicemen from the Russian Ministry of Defence’s African Corps used a ZALA «Lancet» anti-tank guided missile against a vehicle belonging to militants in Mali and posted a video of the target being hit on their Telegram channel, according to ANNA News agency.
A pickup truck carrying militants was detected in the Timbuktu region using a ZALA Z-16 reconnaissance UAV. The militants were conducting surveillance on military installations. A «Lancet» loitering munition was fired at the enemy vehicle, destroying it.
It is noted that the strike on militants in the Timbuktu region was the first publicly documented use of the «Lancet» loitering munition on the African continent.
