ZALA: New Horizons of Technology
In the new edition of the segment #operators – excerpts from a report by the newspaper «Battle Watch» on the use of intelligence UAVs ZALA Z-16 by ZALA «Lancet» RUK units
A UAV operator from Buryatia, with the call sign "Voron" (Raven), who works with the ZALA system on the front line, has shared his experience of working at the front.
The main advantage is ease of control. The device remains stable even in poor visibility or strong winds. We just need to set the route and operating parameters – it does the rest itself. It's like an automated system: you only need to adjust the trajectory, monitor the battery charge, and other parameters that affect flight duration.
One of the most vivid examples of ZALA's application is deep reconnaissance. Thanks to its long flight time, the UAV can fly more than 100 kilometres into enemy territory.
"We get a clear picture of the situation for many kilometres ahead, which allows us to avoid dangerous situations and react to threats in a timely manner. For example, during the assault on Yasna Polyana, our first step was to reconnoitre the area, identify enemy firing points, and study their position changes. All of this was made possible by the increased battery capacity. We literally hovered over enemy positions and conducted surveillance. Then came the order to begin the assault on the settlement, the coordinates of the targets were transmitted to the artillery, and overall, the assault was successful," Voron explained.
