Versatile Workhorse: The New ZALA GX-3 Robotic Platform
The ZALA Universal Robotic Platform (URP) is designed to reduce risks to personnel when carrying out dangerous tasks: from emergency evacuation of the wounded and transportation of small cargo to supplying units in hard‑to‑reach areas with complex terrain. The platform can also act as a tug and perform transport missions in locations unsuitable for human presence.
A key characteristic of the vehicle remains its high cross‑country capability, provided by independent electric motors on each wheel. The platform overcomes obstacles higher than the diameter of its wheels, retains mobility even after losing two of them, and can perform a «tank turn» on the spot, which is critically important in confined spaces. The operator has full situational awareness thanks to a 360‑degree panoramic video camera with real‑time signal transmission. The basic reliable communication range is 5 kilometres, and with the use of a repeater, the assured control zone extends to 30 kilometres. The endurance of the ZALA GX‑3 robotic platform allows it to carry a payload of over 150 kg with a range of up to 50 kilometres, while remaining on standby for more than 200 hours.
The development is capable of replacing conventional transport, providing high reliability in any weather conditions and over rough terrain.
